FIRE EMERGENCY


1. The Passaic Academic Center is equipped with a fire alarm system which is activated in the event of fire or an emergency.


2. In the event a fire is witnessed, immediately activate the fire alarm and proceed to the nearest emergency exit and evacuate the building.


3. Dial 911/ notify Public Safety at 973-341-1600 either in person or via cell phone or college phone.


4. Provide the office personnel or dispatcher with the following information:


a. Your name
b. Location of the fire (be as specific as possible)
c. What is burning
d. Your exact location
e. Injuries to anyone, if known 


5. All students and staff are to assemble a safe distance away from the building.


6. Once you have evacuated, no one is allowed back into the building.


NO ONE IS PERMITTED IN THE BUILDING UNTIL THE ALL CLEAR IS GIVEN BY THE PASSAIC FIRE CHIEF OR HIS DESIGNEE.


401.3.2 Making a False Report: It shall be unlawful for a person to give, signal or transmit a false fire alarm. (International Fire Code 2006)


THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT MUST BE CALLED AND A REPORT MUST BE TAKEN ON EVERY FIRE NO MATTER HOW MINOR.
